The reconstruction of Birštonas Library completed in 2006 according to the draft by K. R. Plyčiuraitis and J. Plyčiuraitienė-Plyčienė represents contemporary Lithuanian architectural trends based on minimalist principles. Nevertheless, although the new quality given to the building can be considered quite solid, it is more likely an example of background architecture rather than a unique project. Just like the Elektrėnai Library reconstruction draft, the building uses many elements of modernist architecture, such as a curtain wall or recurring corner windows.
